The Y Family
Maha Ministries
'R' came to know Christ at the age of seven. Her faith strengthened under the upbringing of her Christian parents. 'J' had Christian beginnings, but did not develop a relationship with Christ until he was 19. After a near-fatal chemical accident at J's work, God placed it on their hearts to resign from their jobs and commit to full-time ministry. They graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2011 and returned home to South Asia, where they live with their four children.
The Y Family strives to plant churches among first-generation believers. They conduct several HIV/AIDS outreach programs in their city, especially among orphans and widows, as well as provide nutritional assistance to boarding schools for children with disabilities. R’s medical and counseling degrees allow them to conduct medical camps and counsel women in nearby towns. Through Project Life, The Y Family offers care for HIV+ widows and their families, sharing the Gospel and food assistance. Through Project Life Launch, they take young men and women aged out of HIV orphanages and walk alongside them, providing counsel and care, skills training, internships, and school scholarships.
